I like the new Madonna song, 4 Minutes To Save The World, featuring cutie pie Justin and the omnipresent Timbaland. And as I was listening to it the other day, I started wondering – why does Timbaland keep doing that “break it break it” thing or whatever it is he’s saying? He did it already in Bombay (which, by the way, would be perfect for a hip hop/belly dance fusion choreography with a few Indian touches).
Will this be Timbaland’s vocal legacy, much as the high-pitched “ee-hee-hee” is for Michael Jackson?
Also, why on earth did they put Madonna in that hideous undergarment?

We are in the planning stages of the ultimate American family rite of passage: a trip to Disney World.
The girls are excited. I am, if not excited, at least looking forward to it. My husband is mostly dreading it. He took Sarah (now eighteen) when she was about 11 and said then that he had no desire to ever return. He’s not a theme park guy to begin with, and also happens to be a tightwad. So you can understand why the DW might qualify as his least favorite place on earth.
Still, he has grudgingly graciously agreed to accompany the girls and me. Just between us, I think he is secretly looking forward to it a little.
It is amazing how much online information there is on DW trip planning. It didn’t take long to identify the times of year when the park is least crowded as well as the times when cost is the lowest. Overlaying those two variables and adding the requirement that it be warm enough for swimming, I determined that September is the optimal time for us. I am shooting for late September since Mike’s and my birthdays are early and mid-September (and neither of us wants to spend our birthday there).
I showed the girls a few of the resort choices. Natalie is most interested in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, while Amelia prefers the Polynesian resort. They both liked the Swan resort too but that one seems to be coming in about third. Of their top choices, I think I would prefer the Polynesian resort too since it is one of the original resorts on the property. But I was leaning toward the Wilderness Lodge. I also think the Contemporary resort looks nice (if boring for younger kids).
I vaguely recall my own family’s trip to Disney World when I was a kid. I remember Its A Small World, the Tiki Room, the Hall of Presidents, the Country Bear Jamboree and the Haunted Mansion. Also the Mad Tea Party. Not much else. That may have been the trip on which my parents bought me a little hat with built in sunglasses which I loved but lost (although that might have been the Six Flags Over Georgia trip).
Any tips on surviving DW with 8 and 6 year olds?
