The Dallas Morning News ran an article today about local charities providing health care services to working people who can’t afford insurance but make too much to qualify for Medicaid/SCHIP.
It is lovely that such organizations step in and provide basic medical care to people who can’t afford to pay for it. But they shouldn’t have to. It really is shameful that in a country as rich as ours people are not assured access to health care.
